After riding single speed the one night for 13 miles and the next day riding in 37 mph headwinds my Achilles was not going to let me go further. I was having shooting pains into my left calf muscle and the right Achilles was starting to ache. I am going to start making my way back to St. Louis via Tracy coming up to get me. I did make it to Walden Colorado and rode over 1700 miles. In the next day or so I will right up a synopsis of my adventure. I have ridden across 4 states and have been a part of the landscape for weeks. Below are a few pics from the last few miles and one of my swollen Achilles.

Don! Oh my gosh, that Achilles looks very painful. I'm so sorry you have to end it here but look how far you've gone, 1765 miles!? That's insane!! When I told my husband about your trip (he's biked through Viet Namh, Cambodia and Thailand..WITH a shag wagon, hotels every night) he was even more astounded and impressed than me. Take care of you! And be proud of how far you made it!!!!
