Beginning May 29, 2022, I will be riding 3100 miles starting in Santa Monica, CA following Old Route 66 and USBR 76 to Yorktown, VA. I have ridden thousands of miles over the years to raise money and awareness for The Joshua Chamberlain Society, a St. Louis based veterans charity that aides wounded and fallen Military Heroes. I personally fund my rides so 100% of your donation goes to the charity.
The route traverses nine states from the Pacific to the Atlantic. This ride has no support vehicles and everything I need for food, shelter, and bicycle maintenance I carry with me. While aiming for 175 miles a day I will typically sleep for only a few hours each night, pushing through tiredness, hunger, and fatigue to get to the end. This ride crosses the deserts of the Southwest, battle the winds of Texas and Oklahoma, and endure the rolling mountains of the Ozarks and the Appalachians. Follow my dot by clicking on the "Where's Don" button, but most importantly, consider making a contribution to JCS to provide support for the Heroes that have sacrificed much for the freedoms we enjoy.
